5月4日付「噴火の様相が一変 — アイスランド （続報）」の続報です。
現地時間 5月5日午前4時30分の少し前、噴火のリズムが変化しました。それまでは約10分周期でしたが、約30分間隔に。それに伴い、溶岩噴泉（マグマジェット）の高さが増し、同日午前5時40分には高さ 460m に達したとのことです（東京タワーの高さは 333m）。
