泥火山の活動は泥や水、ガスの「流出」あるいは「噴出」が主で、英文では "eruption" と書かれていても「噴火」という言葉を使うのがためらわれることが多いのですが、以下の動画は躊躇なく「噴火」と言えます。カスピ海沿岸のアゼルバイジャン（地図）には多くの泥火山が存在しています。
「オスマン･ボズダグ泥火山は、本日（2025年10月11日）現地時間午前8時27分ごろに噴火しました。約40分間にわたり、4～12分間の噴火が3回記録されました」：
