8月18日付「小惑星 2020 QG が地球を掠める」の続報です。
この小惑星の接近･通過について NASA と ESA（欧州宇宙機関）がツイートしています。NASAは、地球に衝突するとしても（この大きさであれば）大気圏内でバラバラになる可能性が高い、ESA は、地球から 3000km 未満のところを通過した、と述べています：
