チリにある欧州南天天文台（ESO）の超大型望遠鏡（VLT）で撮影された画像です。わし座にある若い恒星の周囲に広がるガスと塵でできた原始惑星円盤の中で、生まれたばかりの惑星がその公転軌道上のガスや塵を吸着して成長している様子を初めて明瞭に捉えたものです。 この惑星は木星の約5倍の質量があると推定されています。中心の恒星は太陽の若いバージョンです：
